I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
